Tameka Thompson has been with our team for almost five years. With a master’s degree in counseling, Tameka is an empathetic, client-centered therapist, tailoring her approach to each of her clients’ unique needs. Tameka creates a non-judgmental, safe space for individuals to express themselves. Cultural awareness is central to her work with clients, allowing her to see all the qualities a person has and empowering individuals to reclaim their narrative.
Outside of ACGC, Tameka likes to spend time with her families, do sports and fitness, and give some self-love.

Tameka has worked with children and families going through anxiety, bipolar disorders, depression, race-based trauma, other traumas, and relationship issues. She is trained in approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
